Google has released Veo 3.1 Fast on October 16, 2025, a new version of its video model optimized for speed and lower cost. It runs up to 30 % faster than the standard model.
Like it's quality version, it includes improved native audio-covering natural dialogue and synced sound effects, and offers better control over storytelling with a stronger grasp of cinematic styles.
The native output resolution for Veo 3.1 is 720p or 1080p at 24 fps. Still only landscape 16x9 and portrait 9x16 options. The model can generate with and without audio, which the user can now select. Silent videos come cheaper.
Video duration is also much more flexible with options for 4s, 6s, 8s
The update also enhances image-to-video generation, improving prompt accuracy, audio-visual quality, and character consistency across scenes.
