Adobe Firefly Image Model 5 is a new text-to-image and image editing tool still in public beta. It's part of Adobe’s Firefly platform and uses a freemium plan. The company says it's safe to use for commercial stuff.
It makes 4 MP images from the start so you don’t need to upscale. Adobe says it handles people, lighting and textures better now. You can type out what changes you want and it edits the image for you. That means easier and more direct editing with better results.
Adobe built this as part of its Firefly setup which has been growing since 2023. They rolled out Model 5 during MAX 2025, their yearly creative event. Adobe says this version brings better image quality, layered editing and smoother use inside their main design tools.
You can edit images with plain text commands and pick out parts of a picture to change without messing up the rest. It can move objects around while keeping the scene right. It's still being tested but already runs on Adobe’s website and links up with Photoshop and the rest.
Main features: 4 MP images from the start. Model 5 makes images at around 4 megapixels without upscaling.
Better human figures and lighting. Adobe says it looks more real, especially with people and shadows.
Edit by typing. You can type in changes like “make the sky orange” and it’ll do it.
Change image layers. You can grab and move parts of an image while keeping the rest in place.
Commercial use ready. Adobe says it trained the model with legal content so it’s fine for real projects.
