Overview

Adobe Firefly is Adobe’s AI-powered tool made for creators who need to make high-quality images and videos fast. It works inside Photoshop Illustrator and Premiere Pro so if you’re already using Adobe apps it fits right in.

One big plus Firefly’s AI is trained only on licensed Adobe Stock content so you don’t have to worry about copyright issues, that's why Adobe is emphasizing that it is “industry’s first commercially safe generative AI video model"¯.” Other AI tools scrape random images and videos from the internet during training (without asking persmission, which is kind of a grey area right now).

Firefly’s AI video tools make creating clips simple. Type a prompt and it spits out a video. Upload an image and it brings it to life. Need a longer scene? It extends clips smoothly You can even adjust camera angles and tweak motion for more control Adobe is also working on faster speeds and 4K support.

Firefly isn’t just for video It also has AI tools for images. You can add or erase parts of a picture recolor vector graphics and create stylized text It even upscales videos and auto-generates subtitles in multiple languages.

Adobe also launched new AI video and audio tools on Firefly.com You can create 5-second 1080p clips from text or turn images into motion. Video translation supports over 20 languages and an audio tool syncs speech though lip sync is business-only. For now these tools are web-only but Adobe plans to bring them into its main apps no timeline yet.

How Adobe Firefly Uses AI Credits

Firefly runs on a credit system explained here. Standard tools like image and vector creation take 1 credit per action but some features need way more.High-Cost AI Tools

  • Generate Video (Beta 1080p) – 100 credits per second (temporary discount 20 credits per second)
  • Translate Video & Audio – 5 credits per second
  • Translate & Lip Sync – 10 credits per second

Adobe may change prices and plans over time so expect updates

🔥 TL;DR: Basic AI tools cost 1 credit but video tools are pricey. Some beta features are free for now but that might change. Check the current pricing here.

Prompt:
Cheap tourist snapshot, handheld, slightly shaky and crooked angle, as if taken by an unskilled friend. A 30-year-old stylish blonde woman, mid-sentence, looking a little confused and caught off guard, her expression suspended between talking and posing. She’s standing dead center in front of a major tourist landmark, though the framing is awkward and cuts part of it off. Behind her, a random passer-by photobombs the shot — a young man suddenly leaping in from the left, frozen mid-air with a wild, unhinged expression and flailing arms, almost cartoonish. His exaggerated presence clashes with the woman’s seriousness. Lighting is flat, daytime overcast, emphasizing the raw, unpolished snapshot quality. Poor composition, random tourists half-cropped at the edges, and a sense of chaotic realism as if the camera captured a fleeting, messy, and hilarious moment.

Haha! The photobomber has superpowers!
Prompt:
A sleek product image of a futuristic beverage can on a solid white background, featuring the brand name "AI creators tools" in bold, modern typography. The can design incorporates elements of technology and creativity, including abstract digital patterns, glowing circuit motifs, and icons representing filmmaking, generative AI, and YouTube creation. Vibrant hues of electric blue, silver, and neon accents create a tech-inspired aesthetic. The overall design feels innovative and dynamic, emphasizing the fusion of AI and creative tools.

Ok that's a different take...
Prompt:
An extreme closeup shot of a 30-year-old man with tan skin and messy dark hair falling over his face. He’s staring straight at the camera with cold light-blue eyes that kinda stop you. Strands of his hair catch the light and frame his look. There’s a clean tattoo on the side of his face running from cheek to temple. It’s got a bit of rough texture that stands out against his smooth skin. The lighting’s sharp and moody. It throws some parts in shadow while showing off the details in his skin and the wet bits of hair. The background’s a blur, keeping all focus on him. Shot with a telephoto lens and a shallow depth of field. The image’s super clear, pulling out every little thing - from the look in his eyes to the way his hair sits. The whole vibe feels raw, personal, and a little gritty.

Can't fault this generation, it's pretty great on all counts, except maybe almost monochrome.
