Midjourney V7 dropped on April 3 2025 and by June 17 it became the default model for everyone. It’s said to handle photo quality better and gets prompts right more often especially with hands, bodies and objects.
It does text to image with strong detail. Also lets you edit images by zooming panning or changing stuff inside them.
It added Draft Mode which makes images 10 times faster and cheaper so you can test stuff out real quick.
It supports any aspect ratio like before 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 9:16. You set that using --ar and can resize or move the frame later.
Image resolution depends on your settings. The normal ones are high res like 1024x1024 or more.
It gets natural language cues better now like “golden hour lighting” or “Dutch angle”.
There’s a custom style option too. If you rate 200 or so images it learns what you like and keeps that style going.
You can pick between two speed modes. Turbo is faster but not as sharp. Relax is slower but more detailed.
