Grok Imagine v0.9 adds image and video making to xAI’s Grok chatbot. It's the newer version released in October 2025 and it's faster and easier to use. It is currently free to try on Grok's web or mobile apps.
It's built to let you quickly make pictures and short videos with sound. Everything’s meant to be fast and simple.
This version seems made to take on other fast AI video tools like OpenAI’s Sora.

Fast results. It’s makes videos in around 15 seconds, which is huge, because usually you have to wait for a miniute or even 3-5 minutes.
Different image types. It can make realistic videos, anime, drawings, and more.
Video made from pics and sound. It turns images into short videos that may come with sound or effects. Doesn’t go from text straight to video (but if you give it a solid black image - or white, or other color if you prefer - it will draw the second frame itself, technically making a text-to-video for you, this trick works across the board for all generators)
Types of animation. Includes things like Custom, Normal, Fun, and a "Spicy" mode. Custom is where you enter your text prompt, other modes are automatic.
NSFW option. That "Spicy" mode lets users make adult or sexual images. The model is less censored in general, for example, it will let your characters curse.
