Can You Use Hunyuan Video for Commercial Projects?

The short answer: Yes, but there are rules to follow. Here’s what Tencent’s Hunyuan Community License allows and limits when using the tool for business purposes.

What’s Allowed?

  1. You Own the Outputs
    The videos you make belong to you. Tencent doesn’t claim any rights to them. You can use them for commercial purposes, as long as you follow the other rules.

  2. Business Use Is OK in Some Regions
    You can monetize outputs in most regions, but not in the European Union, the UK, or South Korea.

  3. Small-to-Mid Scale Use Is Fine
    If your platform has under 100 million monthly users, you’re good to go. For anything larger, you’ll need a separate license from Tencent.

  4. Attribution (Optional)
    If needed, you might add “Powered by Tencent Hunyuan” to your products.

What’s Not Allowed?

  1. Violating the Acceptable Use Policy
    Your videos can’t be used for anything harmful, illegal, or unethical. For example, don’t make videos that hurt people or promote illegal activities.

  2. Breaking Regional Rules
    Trying to use Hunyuan outputs commercially in banned regions? That’s a no-go.

  3. Large-Scale Use Without Permission
    Platforms with over 100 million active users per month can’t use Hunyuan Video commercially unless they get Tencent’s approval.
