VEO 3 and FLOW

Veo 3 is Google DeepMind's latest video generation model, offering better visual quality, improved prompt accuracy, and the ability to generate audio. It is currently available only to Ultra subscribers. So Veo 3 comes with native audio generation, bringing environmental sounds and character dialogue directly into video creation. It supports:

  • Text to Video with speech and environmental sounds.
  • First Frame to Video with environmental sounds.

Veo 3 does not yet support features like first and last frame, camera controls, extend, or Ingredients to Video. When using these, the system will revert to Veo 2.

The Flow suite - an AI filmmaking tool - offers a full set of content creation tools, positioning it as a strong alternative to Sora. All features are currently available, though advanced access comes at a high cost.

Key features include 4K video generation with improved physics, realism, and prompt accuracy. It supports camera movements, inpainting, outpainting, and using sample videos to drive character animations. Users can generate complete scenes with synchronized voiceovers and sound effects from a single prompt.

Example Flow Process:

  1. Generate 1st scene in Veo3
  2. Select "Add to Scene"
  3. Select extend
  4. Add prompt + generate

It also enables blending characters and settings for consistent storytelling, and offers control over first/last frames and scene extensions.

People are saying Veo 2 feels way more realistic with better physics than Sora. Movements look smoother things behave more naturally. But it’s not perfect—stuff like water splashes and object heaviness still feel off sometimes.

Some users love what Sora can do but many complain about weird glitches unpredictable outputs and artifacts messing up results. A big frustration? The official demo videos look incredible but when users try it themselves the results often don’t match up.

A few users are worried about AI restrictions pointing out that Gemini limits certain queries. Others don’t see the issue or think it’s just part of how these models work.

In general people are more impressed with Veo 2 especially when stacked against Sora. Sora has potential but its hit-or-miss results make it hard to trust. Time will tell if it can catch up.

Prompt: Medium shot from behind — a man facing a mirror tries on a new outfit. He adjusts his purple sweatshirt, smoothing one sleeve. He studies his reflection with a thoughtful gaze, then subtly shifts his weight and turns slightly to the left, keeping his eyes fixed on the mirror. Compare Tools

Veo 2. Clearly try-on going on. Very good.

Prompt: Surreal scene of a delicately ornate porcelain mug with an embossed gold floral pattern along the rim and upper edges, featuring a highly realistic detailed nature scene wrapping around the central surface of the mug. In the middle of the design, a flamingo stands gracefully in a small reflective water pond, surrounded by lush green reeds, blooming wildflowers, and delicate pink and white blossoms. The painted lake water overflows, spilling realistically from the lower edge of the cup onto the table! The pool of water on the table grows larger and larger, soon surrounding the cup. Several yellow butterflies flutter around the flamingo—some in mid-air, some perched on flowers. Compare Tools

Prompt: Reveal more of the lake and mountains on the right by moving the camera. It's a windy day. Retro analog footage, VHS tape glitch effects, cinematic glitch effects. Compare Tools

Veo 2 image to video generation, strangely, had a problem rendering 'pan right' camera motion. This prompt wording was tried after the default one failed. Nice glitch effects though.

Prompt: A blonde female soldier in a camouflage bandana with piercing eyes is shown in the forefront, partially submerged in murky water, pointing a modern assault rifle straight at the audience. It is a really dramatic and dramatic scene. Mud and grime on her shoulders highlight her rough, battle-worn appearance, while her face and head are drenched. Partially blurred to simulate depth, a group of alert troops, all fully armed and wearing tactical gear and helmets, are slowly moving through the water behind her. The team suddenly decides to launch an attack. Watch as a female soldier discharges her weapon and then charges forward, disappearing from view. Her crew moves strategically while firing their guns in the background, with rhythmic flashes coming from the barrels. Smoke appears in the air from the gunfire, Muzzle flashes, sparks fly in all directions. The background features a dense, misty jungle with faint outlines of trees, adding a humid, gritty atmosphere. The lighting is diffused, with overcast conditions casting a moody, natural glow on the scene. The color palette is dominated by cold earthy tones such as greens, browns, and greys, enhanced by the reflective surfaces of water and wet gear. Compare Tools
