Aleph, Runway's new AI-powered in-context video editing model capable of advanced scene manipulation has been released end of July 2025.
Aleph supports a variety of tasks: adding or removing objects and people from footage, generating new camera angles, altering object appearance, and adjusting styling and lighting.
It can also continue a video sequence with next-shot generation, transfer motion from one video onto a new image, and modify a character’s age or appearance.
Users can transform environments - such as location, season, or time of day - transfer any visual style to existing footage, and relight scenes realistically.
Green screen extraction is also supported, offering precise background removal for individual subjects.
