Overview

Hidream E1 is an image editing tool where you type what you want changed and it edits the picture for you. If you want to change hair color add fall leaves or make a wood table look like marble it handles that with just a sentence.

No need for sliders menus or tools.

It’s made by Vivigo AI. They also created Hidream-I1 a well-liked image generator that’s building a solid reputation. They’re still growing but this tool is helping them stand out in the open-source space.

It focuses on smart editing. That means it understands what you say and turns it into real image changes. You can type simple commands and get accurate edits right away.

Some examples:

• Change surfaces. Like turning stone into wood or metal into glass.
• Swap objects. One item becomes another.
• Style shift. Add a Ghibli or Pixar style or even sketch effects.
• Environmental changes. Add rain snow or falling leaves.
• Edit text on signs cakes and more.

It consistently produces clean detailed results. Many users say it outperforms OmniGen Magic Brush and Gemini. It’s especially good at keeping faces and shapes intact unless you ask it to change them.

And it’s open-source. That means no locked features or paid upgrades. You can download and use it freely.

It’s already working inside ComfyUI so if you use that platform it’s easy to set up (also, check out the quantized version here for smaller VRAM). Or you can run it locally using the GitHub repo or Hugging Face model. If you go with auto-download you’ll need to agree to the Llama 3.1 license first.
